Stable Foundation: Group Hopes To Restore 110-Year-Old Structure

Link to September 18 Jamestown Post-Journal article.

Excerpt: The Wellman Building was once a gem in the commercial crown of the city.

Two seasons after its completion, a directory of Jamestown from 1900 noted the building was equipped with a modern elevator, providing easy access to five floors of office space. Two storefronts faced Third Street and each office sector was divided into executive suites - each with its own washroom.

"The Wellman Building is erected on a solid foundation," it was said, "with a view to great permanency a
s well as ornamentation and is one of Jamestown's most modern buildings and a credit to the city."
